Following Jesus' way
One of the challenges we face as followers of Jesus is the question of how we live our lives in the light of our identity as children in his family. "I'm a follower of Jesus, but how does this change the way I live, think, the ways I choose to spend my time, how I interact with the world?'
The last thing we want to be is those who believe in the life changing power of Jesus, without actually being changed by it. Jesus' model is one of discipleship - following, learning from and becoming like Jesus. He invited his disciples to live close to him, to be with him, to see what he did with his every day life. Jesus' disciples saw His life habits, they had a unique window into His way of living, and, as well as teaching them Jesus encouraged them to do the same things He did.
We are running our second discipleship course this term, in which we will be looking at Jesus in detail. What did he do, how did he live? Are there practical things we can do to be more like Him, and to do the things He did?
The course runs for 8 weeks, from Thursday 23rd January at 7:30pm at the Church Centre. We will meet together, we will discuss and learn practices that Jesus has given us as his followers using some excellent teaching videos. The course is suitable for all above the age of 15. It's great for people who have recently come to faith, as well as established Christians - anyone who wants to follow Jesus with their whole hearts.
