Caraway reporting back from Bereavement Course

Caraway, in partnership with Pippa, a Psychotherapist, has piloted a 7 session Bereavement Workshop for up to 8 people. It is for people who are grieving, and is best if at least 4 months after the death.

"It's been so good to have time to think about things associated with loss. Very well structured and thought out." said one participant.

The first course was held at Kings Church, Lordswood, and 8 participants had a variety of loss situations. A Caraway chaplain was part of each session and was available for prayer and one to one chats as requested. The sessions took them through some stages of grief and loss, and helped them put their loss into context of themselves as a person, understand what they are physically and emotionally feeling, and to look towards points of growth for the future. There was a spiritual take home item and the last session is specifically about spiritual aspects of loss.

There was great sharing, and being with others going through the same journey was very helpful.

"Talking with others who have experienced similar loss and how to deal with it helped. "

"IT REALLY HELPED to be listened to!"

"Knowing that you are not alone and with God's help you will get through it all was really helpful."

We plan to run another course in the autumn. If you would like to know more contact us.
