How to take action on the vote on Assisted Suicide this Friday

This Friday, MPs are returning to debate Kim Leadbeater’s bill to legalise assisted suicide.

They will debate amendments to the bill that could change details of how it would work in practice.

If there is time, they may also hold the vital third reading where MPs decide whether to push the bill forwards or reject it outright.

We mustn’t grow weary - we need to keep standing firm for life. Please pray!

If you still haven’t contacted your MP, please do so urgently. It’s vital that they continue to hear from people who are opposed to assisted suicide.

And if you know that your MP is against assisted suicide, then please write to them and ask that they show up to the Report Stage on Friday. We need every opposing voice to this bill in Parliament on Friday.

You may want to also tell your MP about a new intervention from the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The organisation is ‘neutral’ on the topic as a whole but has said that it opposes this bill over “many, many factors.”

There are various ways of taking action online through organisations like Christian Concern, CARE etc. More information from CARE can be found at https://care.org.uk/cause/assisted-suicide. Christian Concern has more information at https://christianconcern.com/.

Various groups are organising rallies opposite Parliament on Friday morning from 8.30am/9am so that MPs arriving see that there is widespread opposition to assisted suicide. There are also online prayer meetings taking place.
