Dear friends
With the arrival of Autumn and shorter, darker evenings, we are stocking up with pot noodles, hot drinks and winter essentials - scarves, gloves, hats and umbrellas. Whilst most of us enjoy the warmth and comfort of our homes, some women in our city are experiencing homelessness, along with isolation, addiction and mental ill health. God has not forgotten them. He sees them, He cares about them, and He has given us a passion and desire to walk alongside them.
SIMPLE ACTS OF KINDNESS
Our team continues to be a friendly presence through our outreach sessions. We are seeing an increased number of women and are currently delivering three sessions each week in the outreach van. Offering a listening ear, an essentials gift bag, pot noodle, mash pot (new favourite!) and hot drink, by simply showing up and reflecting God’s love in everyday moments as we meet women on the streets. We discovered that Lorna (not her real name) loves dolphins and with the kind support of SCRATCH who donated cushions and a sofa, we purchased some dolphin-themed cushion covers and blessed her with them. Lorna was very happy!
We need essential items to help fill our gift bags and stock the outreach van. If you would like to help in a practical way, please consider ordering something from our Amazon shopping list https://tinyurl.com/amber-essentials-list
DRIVE, LISTEN .. BE PART OF OUR TEAM
We are also looking for men and women who share a passion for what we do. It is not for everyone but for those who feel called to it we would to hear from you. We are looking for volunteer drivers who can commit to at least once a month, preferably twice, to drive our outreach van for afternoon and evening outreach sessions, being our eyes and ears while the team spend time with the women.
To join the chaplaincy team for evening outreach on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, which is made up of volunteers from local churches, you need to be female, show empathy, be non-judgemental and a good listener who is able to empower and signpost women rather than rescue them. If this is something you would like to consider, we would love to chat to you, please do email us contact@amberchaplains.org.uk.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY!
THURSDAY 4 DECEMBER, 7-9.30PM
Thank you for your ongoing support. It much appreciated.
